He popped the question!
Nearly five months later, Eric planned to propose to me in a romantic way. We went on a weekend getaway to Savannah, Ga., and it was so nice to escape the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. I already had the weekend planned. We could not leave without going to Paula Dean's restaurant, Mother and Sons. I had my heart set on going there for awhile.
So, we checked in to the hotel, and we made reservations for the next day to eat at Paula Deans. That night, we ate at a local restaurant suggested by the concierge. It was still early, so we decided to take a stroll in the historic area after dinner. We made ourselves comfortable and listened to the local artists playing music. Eric began to propose by telling me how much he loved me, and how great I am. I was so busy taking in the scenery that I totally missed where he was going with the conversation. And, I interrupted him, when I saw a cute dog passing our way. He lost his momentum, so we went on with our stroll. We returned to the hotel, and Eric began with the same dialogue. At that point, the light came on in my brain, and I was so excited. Eric took a small black box out of his pocket. He opened it, and I saw a beautiful ring.... I could barely wait for him to say those four sacred words: "Will you marry me?" I shouted out, "yes, yes, Yes!"
Unbeknownst to me, my parents and his mom already knew. He had visited my parents the night prior to our departure and asked for my hand in marriage. I know that I am truly blessed to have such a gem.
